Director Prevention, Engagement and Retention

Tanya is the Director Prevention, Engagement and Retention at Public Services Health and Safety Association. She has over 20 years’ experience in health and safety and ergonomics in a variety of industries with a particular focus on municipal government and public safety. She is a mental health advocate and has lived experience on her own journey as well as supporting peers in times of challenge or mental health crisis. She dreams of the time when accessing supports for mental health concerns are as abundant and “normal” as seeking care for a broken leg or respiratory issue.

She holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo, an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate from Toronto Metropolitan (formerly Ryerson) University and is a Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomist (CCPE) and Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).
